About Hillit Wahlberg

Hillit Wahlberg is a ceramic artist originally from Tel Aviv, Israel, based in Denver, Colorado. Her journey with clay began at a young age, returning to the throwing wheel in 2019. While building careers in media and later in tech, ceramics remained a constant creative refuge until 2021, when she transitioned to working in clay full-time.
Her work has been presented as a solo exhibition through Artsy in collaboration with SeeSaw Art Gallery, and in group exhibitions across Colorado including PRESENT Company at SeeSaw Art Gallery, the 41st Annual All Colorado Art Show at the Curtis Center for the Arts, Spot On #7 at D’art Gallery on Santa Fe Drive, MUGSHOT at the Arvada Center, delecTABLE at the Art Students League of Denver, and Seed at BRDG Project.
Artist Statement
My practice uses the vessel as a site of philosophical inquiry. Working in wheel-thrown porcelain and stoneware from my studio in Denver, I make forms that hold ideas as much as they hold space. The work begins with a text, a thinker, a question that clay seems better equipped to answer than language alone. What emerges are objects that sit at the edge of the legible, asking something of the person who encounters them.
